Hello!

The Announcement Signal and Automatic Brake (in Spain Anuncio de Señales y Frenado Automatico) offers a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Obviously, the speed is checking when the trein pass a control point in the track, so the train driver must see the display in the cab
This part of the line is very curious. Signals have previous check points with ASFA and ERTMS, but when you pass the main signal, you run only with ASFA (Vmax 200 km/h). The block name is BSL. Is like the automatic block, but we only use it when we haven't LZB or ERTMS.

With ERTMS, train driver can't pass more than 5 km the maximum speed. With ASFA, the driver can only reduce when he approachs to the signal.
Thx for the information. So, ASFA does not control
speed continously (like LZB or even ETCS L2) nor
it has the ability to check the speed at specific
points (like »GPA« in german/austrian PZB), except
stationary signal points at the track? Also, ASFA
(200) is not able to control speeds other than 0
/60 /160 /180 /200 km/h?

How peril points like the one we are talking about
are being secured in spain then?

Is any version of ETCS, above Level 0, in use at
the high speed line Ourense – Santiago de
Compostela? ADIF's network statement is just
saying: ASFA, ERTMS, GSM-R.
As you stated BLA block system, I'd assume: No,
there isn't any substantial ETCS functionality,
would I?
Hello! The train runs before with ERTMS, crosses the transition zone and come in the ASFA's zone.

With Asfa and a main signal in green, you can run at 200 km/h.

Obviously, ASFA is a good system. If we find a signal in yellow, fixed yellow, cross level without protection, temporarely restricted speed, next signal in red...in the cab's display a yellow signal appears. Check point tells the train Vmax 160 km and next control 80 km/h if the maximum speed of the train is 100 km/h. If the maximum speed of the train is under 100 km/h, we must run at 60 km/h

There are many particularities. I try tell you with many time later.

Bei DSO muss man wirklich sehr selektiv lesen.

Nicht immer. ;-)
