Hello ICE fans,

folgende Nachricht wurde mir via Gesichtbuch geteilt.

Moulton released a plan in May to invest $205 billion over five years to begin constructing the rail network, an ambitious goal that the congressman argues will create millions of new jobs and fix infrastructure issues by modernizing the nation’s transportation system.

Da bin ich selbstverständlich gespannt, wie das Netz denn aussehen soll... PDF dazu.
Ein zusammenhängendes Netz fehlt noch; dafür gibt es drei Seiten (29-31) an "stand alone" Projekten. Dazu auch eine Studie nach einer berührungsfreien North-East Corridor.

We’ve spent hundreds of billions of dollars in expanding highways in urban areas to deal with congestion over the last 20 years and congestion has only gotten worse. We have to get out of this backwards mentality where building 1950s highways is the solution. We have a generational opportunity to invest in infrastructure, we can’t squander it by investing in the last generation’s infrastructure.

Mal sehen, wie es weitergeht. Positiv ist dass die USA jetzt einen etwas mehr bahnaffinen Präsidenten haben ("Amtrak Joe").
