"FS/Trenitalia" doesn't want international trains between Austria and Italy.

There are 2 possibilities:
1) There will be only IC-Bus (Vienna-) Klagenfurt - Venezia
2) ÖBB look for a partner (-> EC via Brennero) in Italy to run RJ Vienna - Venezia together (ÖBB + italian partner).

2) ÖBB look for a partner (-> EC via Brennero) in Italy to run RJ Vienna - Venezia together (ÖBB + italian partner).
That Italian partner is LeNord, formerly known as "Ferrovie Nord Milano".
They also run commuter trains / suburban trains (S-Bahn) in and near Milan.
They also run freight trains all across Italy and abroad.
Cheer from the Netherlands,
Oscar (NL).

I know, but I wrote about EC/RJ Vienna - Venezia. There LeNord/FNM isn't the partner of the ÖBB.

Welcome to ICE FanForum!
Please feel free to write in English if that suits you better.
Most of the forum members understand the language.
About the missing EC 30/31: I guess this is the price we have to pay for the overblown efforts of the Italians in their high-speed / high-capacity network.
Connections to Austria (Vienna via Klagenfurt as well as Munich via Brenner Pass) and Switzerland (Zurich via Gotthard as well as Basel via Simplon) are not profitable enough (maybe except the freight trains, which will probably run at profit).
Cheers,
Oscar (NL).

Hello!

That's true and a very big problem. The trains Austria - Italy in 2010 are:
- 5 EC Munich - Kufstein - Innsbruck - Bolzano ( - Verona - Bologna)
- CNL Munich - Kufstein - Innsbruck - Verona - Roma/Venezia
- EN Vienna - Venezia Mestre - Roma/Milano
- EN Vienna - Salzburg - Villach - Venezia SL
